On August 8, Chipolbrok accepted the delivery of M/V BOYM, 62000 DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessel, in Jiangsu Kou’an Shipyard. Jakub Kumoch, Polish Ambassador to China, as well as leaders and guests from all walks of life, including Chipolbrok, BOCOM Leasing, Pusheng Shipping, Kou’an Shipyard witnessed the naming ceremony.
World's Largest Deadweight Tonnage
M/V BOYM, the world’s largest deadweight multi-purpose heavy-lift vessel, is the sixth vessel of this series to be put into operation by Chipolbrok. The vessel is 199.9 meters long, 32.26 meters wide and 19.3 meters deep, with a maximum draft of 13.5 meters. Equipped with 4 heavy lift cranes, the joint crane of the vessel has a maximum lifting capacity of 300 tons, making the loading of various sizes of heavy equipment cargo flexible. In line with the new trend of green, low-carbon and intelligent shipping, this type of vessel meets requirements of Phase3 EEDI indexes and Tier III emission for NOx. Combined with large deadweight tonnage and box-type structure, it has the advantages of excellent cargo suitability and project cargo transportation.
From 2021 to 2023, the other five vessels of Taixing, Herbert, Pilecki, Yongxing and Yu’an, have been put into operation successively, successfully completing a number of transportation projects, such as the export of complete sets of wind power equipment, barges, large RTG and engineering locomotives and other transportation projects, which include a number of full logistics services sea transportation section, winning customers’ praise for the brand service of Chipolbrok.
BOYM Won the Third Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award
Just before the delivery ceremony of the vessel, the 62,000 DWT vessel, as a new generation of heavy lift multi-purpose vessel with all-pass hatch cover, was awarded the Third Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of China Shipbuilding Engineering Society.
With the new vessels coming into operation one after another, the fleet structure of Chipolbrok continues to be upgraded, and has developed into a fleet of 5 multi-purpose heavy lift vessels with leading ship types, energy saving, environmental protection and diversified structures. At present, Chipolbrok’s ship types are mainly divided into 62,000 DWT, 36,000 DWT, 32,000 DWT, 30,000 DWT and 28,000 DWT, with maximum lifting capacities ranging from 700 tons, 640 tons, 520 tons, 400 tons, to 300 tons, which can flexibly handle changeable port conditions, meet the requirements of different cargo loading,unloading and stowage, providing customers with better personalized service.

Michał Piotr Boym,a Polish missionary who came to China in the middle of the 17th century,contributed greatly to the cultural exchange between China and the West.
On June 17, 2016, ahead of his state visit to the Republic of Poland, President Xi Jinping published a signed article on leading Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita under the title of "Setting Sail for Full Speed Progress of China-Poland Friendship", in which it was mentioned that, “In the middle of the 17th century, Polish missionary Michal Boym came to China. He wrote many books based on his extensive study of Chinese society, history, medicine and geography, and became the first European to introduce scientific and cultural achievements of ancient China to the West, winning the reputation of "the Marco Polo of Poland."
The first voyage of the vessel will load wind power equipment, transformers and other export equipment in Taicang Port of Jiangsu Province.
